Since Durwin kickstarted Startup Weekend in Singapore in 2014, he has grown one of Singapore’s largest startup communities 10x in just three years, raising over $600,000 in sponsorships from government agencies, investors and organisations to support the next generation of founders. He continues his work to bring more support to early-stage founders through StartupX, garnering a partnership to launch a pre-accelerator for startups.
As a serial hackathoner, has won and joined close to 30 hackathons in Asia. In 2017, he won the inaugural Airasia global hackathon Airvolution, beating out teams from all over the world.
Durwin also manages and operates a successful childcare business that continues to grow year on year.

Prior to co-founding StartupX, Raymond was formerly with the technology teams at Microsoft and Eastspring Investments, where he managed and led multi-million dollars digital transformation projects. He is frequently consulted in APAC for his operational and project management capabilities owing to his background leading multiple remote teams on large projects across the world.
Raymond is also part of the core team behind Startup Weekend Singapore, one of the largest and most successful startup programmes in Asia. He is also a co-founder of an award-winning startup that aims to bring digital into the traditional home services industry.
Programme & partnerships
Joyce is the co-founder of StartupX and leads programmes and partnerships. She was formerly the Programme Head for BLOCK71 Singapore & Indonesia, leading startup incubation programmes. Prior to this, she started her own startups in the fintech & consumer tech space. She also worked in corporate consultancy, bridging collaborations between fintech startups and traditional financial institutions.
She runs one of the largest Startup Weekends around the world in Singapore and has facilitated a Global Startup Weekend in Beijing. Her exposure across the APAC startup ecosystem leads her to actively support initiatives that help provide growth and opportunities to early-stage founders.
wong shih han
Shih Han was formerly with a commodities trading firm before taking the leap to join the startup world. She worked in a fintech startup building up partnerships and working with B2B clients, supporting the company to hit profitability in just six months. She is currently the programme manager at StartupX. Shih Han is also one of the organisers for Startup Weekend Singapore.
Grace was formerly a Programme Coordinator intern with Viisa accelerator in Vietnam, and is currently an Associate with StartupX. She has worked with various startups and actively volunteers for startup hackathons and other activities. She has a keen interest in social entrepreneurship and is currently completing her final year project supporting a social enterprise.
Alex is a self-taught designer who is a mechanical engineer by trade. He is well sought-after for his design work and he has previously done design for startups, venture capital firms, organisations and more. Alex has worked in energy and agtech and is also one of the organisers for Startup Weekend Singapore.
